Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) has operated a cross-country Christmas train for 10 years.
On December 2, 2009 it stopped for an hour outside of Barrie, Ontario in Midhurst.
The train helps raise money for local food banks.
Santa is on board to greet children and parents can have their kids' pictures taken on the front of the locomotive
while it's stopped at the small yard next to Anne Street and Highway 26.
I had taken a video during 2008 that was posted here. I was better organized in 2009. It helped that there was no snow on the ground this time.
The train passed through Midhurst at lunchtime so the lights were not very visible. The train would move on to Parry Sound and then to Sudbury on its cross-Canada journey. Some towns, liek Parry Sound, would get to see it lit up at night.
Here's a video I took during the trains's stop.
